- There is a restroom in every building on campus. Seriously, every building — don’t go running to the 200 building when they’re in the 1500 building just to use the bathroom.
- Yes, the toilets are automatic. Just a forewarning in case it flushes before one is finished and startles them because it’s only a matter of time before it does.
- Seconds are indeed an option during lunch. Still hungry? Get up and grab some more! No one will judge you; they’ll probably follow suit.
- One cannot wander in the cafeteria if they’re not getting lunch. You can, however, wander around union until it closes.
- All Butler events are free with student I.D whether it’s a musical or a sports event as long as you have your handy dandy school mugshot — it’s free.
- As much as one might want to light up, Butler is a tobacco free campus. Before you look for a loophole, it does include E-cigarettes.
- The union closes at nine p.m. Even though the lights may be on and the doors are unlocked, that’s just so the maintenance can see what they are doing and move about with ease.
- There is food and drink available in the library. Need coffee or maybe a brownie? The library’s got it. They even have smoothies. PSA: The strawberry banana is delicious.
- One doesn’t have to drag out their proxy to get in. Keep it in one’s pants, angle their hips just right and they’re in. Or one can just throw it, which works too.
- Don’t be afraid to ask for help whether it’s English, math or one locked their keys in their car. Tutors, campus police and other staff would be happy to help.
- Talk to the counselor, located in the college health building, as well as campus security. Contact Nancy Hamm.
- Strike up a conversation with Jeff Tymony, the professor of criminal justice. Seriously, it’s worth it. Just make sure to have ample time between classes.
- Get involved: There is something for everyone whether it’s Ag Ambassadors, Philosophy, Gay-Straight Alliance or even Delta Psi Omega. Choose one, choose all; they will be happy to welcome another member.
- Emergency? Contact Campus Police. They would be happy to assist, whether one is being chased by a sociopathic clown or just locked their keys in their car. Campus police are the people to call though I don’t believe they bust ghosts.
- Need help contacting a specific teacher? Find the Faculty Directory at the Butler home page under “About Us.” There is even a nifty search button if one knows their name. It will save a ton of time rather than scrolling through the entire directory.
