The race to the White House is one of, if not, the most talked about topic on CNN at the moment. From Trump’s wall to Hillary’s Equal Payment Plan, there isn’t much room to talk about what else is going on with the third party candidates. With the debates about to begin, one question remains: What will the other candidates do?
There are a few pros and cons to letting the other candidates debate with Trump and Clinton. Jill Stein, running for the Green Party, and Gary Johnson, running for the Libertarian Party, are two of the others running for president. Stein and Johnson are candidates too, and they should have an equal chance to land a spot in the White House. It will also give the United States citizens a wider range of candidates to hear from and ultimately choose for their next president.
Some voters only see Trump and Clinton and may only focus on them as candidates because they may see Stein and Johnson as unnecessary and just a waste of air. I know that’s a harsh way to put it, but I mean hey, this is politics. Things always end up bloody. Stein and Johnson also have zero chance of being elected. People are too focused on building walls and equal pay that they will not even blink twice at the other candidates. They have their eyes set on the Democratic and Republican parties only.
Stein and Johnson should not be allowed to debate. I know this may upset some of the voters that are strongly in support of Stein and Johnson, but let’s get real people: no one will pay attention to them!
Now, I am not saying that you shouldn’t vote Stein or Johnson, I’m just saying that your vote will be wasted. If you’re a strong supporter of one of the two, then join the movement on Twitter and use the trending hashtags: #letjilldebate and #letgarydebate. Use your time there instead of protesting the new Pipeline because it’ll get you nowhere.
This situation will result in one thing: Third-party candidates will not be able to debate. It would save them humiliation and time. Trump and Clinton have the nation at their feet. I truly think Stein and Johnson should have stopped a long time ago. It would’ve saved them money and most importantly, their time.
