Want a delicious high-end restaurant to eat at that would impress people, but not empty your wallet? Then Beijing Bistro is the place to go.
For the first iteration of “This Week in El Dorado” the staff at the Lantern decided it would be good start with a local favorite, the Beijing Bistro, that receives much praise on a regular basis.
Calling ahead is ideal as the restaurant can be very busy around the weekend for dinner, so it never hurts to check in before you go, so you don’t have to wait longer than you have to.
On arrival, the restaurant’s exterior has the decoration and subtle architecture of a traditional Asian eatery. The patio, which is better suited for when the weather is more enjoyable, is protected from the sun with bamboo shades accented with calligraphy from the Asian continent, which makes the restaurant look like a professional restaurant.
Upon entering, it’s commonplace to see many customers enjoying a night out and waiters rushing drinks and dishes around with haste. One of the many employees who works at Beijing Bistro is Baagii Bagnyam, a shift manager who takes phone calls, takes orders, run food and makes sure your experience is enjoyable.
When asked why she thinks people enjoy Beijing Bistro, Bagnyam answered, “The good quality food at a reasonable price being served by a friendly and skilled staff. We serve many kinds of food, not just Asian staples as well. We care about our customers. It is a great place to celebrate all kinds of occasions.”
The final and obvious part of going to any restaurant is having some food.
Given the many choices that are available to order, there’s no shame in taking a while to go over the options given the magnitude of the menu. Not only are there various appetizers, salads, soups and entrées with Asian inspiration, but they also have American and Italian that are great options for those whose first choice of food isn’t always Asian food.
The most impressive part of the menu is its relatively low price. Many dishes rarely go over $15 with the exception of dishes with the main ingredient being steak or lobster or dishes with greater quantities of food.
Sushi was the choice of the night because of the many options on the sushi and sashimi menu and the relative cheap price for the ingredients and quantity of rolls in each recipe. Bangnyam recommended the spicy salmon roll, which she said was a great option for seafood lovers.
The roll was absolutely delicious. The salmon was cool and fresh, and the rice was perfectly cooked, not being over-cooked or under-cooked. The sauce had a gentle heat to it, so it doesn’t drown out the rest of the ingredients. Very impressive and quality dish, and at $7, it’s also cost effective.
Beijing Bistro is a great choice for a night out with friends, family, or a special someone that not only boasts great food but great service as well. Its experience that it offers is always something to keep in mind when you’re in the mood to go enjoy some quality food. Beijing Bistro is a place that is impossible not to recommend for the great price, great food and great experience.
