Like any college student hungry for cash, a student worker position is a great option here at Butler. It is possible for a student to find work nearly anywhere on campus. For example, student workers can be found in the bookstore, the library and the admissions offices. Butler’s greatest gift to the student body is an opportunity, which conveniently lies around every corner.
Depending on where you find work on campus, you will gain far more than just a simple paycheck, for you could possibly have the chance at getting experience in that field. Being a part-time worker for employers who are more than willing to comply with a student’s schedule is a dream come true. You would be hard pressed to find compassion on this scale from a large quantity of other employers.
Butler understands that your education comes first and foremost, and realizing all of this, I am more than happy with my student worker position with the Information Services department. I feel that I am consistently accommodated for, and in return I enjoy giving back to the college that cares about my success. The Information Services department has given me ample amounts of experience in the field of information technology, which is something I will forever be grateful for.
In addition to the chance to grow and learn in my career field, I am consistently met by people that treat me with value and are more than willing to guide me on the path to success. A defining factor of Butler Community College would be the warmth and interconnected nature of the college and faculty. I’ve held several jobs which when compared to Butler were cold and unappreciative which is a direct contrast from what Butler is like.
Coworkers easily become friends and bosses become mentors all of who care about your individual growth. I strongly encourage any students looking for part time work to consider being a student worker. Take advantage of the many opportunities Butler Community College offers and seek out a student worker position.
