Why should I care?

There’s a duality inside me.
Torn amongst a triangle of envy.
Each stalking the last.

Each acting as a wrecking crew.
Unveiling insecurities, the others hide.
Callously picking at open wounds.

There’s no security.
I’m bare and unprotected.
I looked at you for comfort.

I’ve kept my mouth shut since.
I was your exquisite trophy to show off.
I allowed it because I was wrapped around your finger.

“You don’t see those mix that often”
“Huh usually those two are super racist, that’s weird”
“You’re a mutt”

Too yellow to be brown,
Too brown to be white,
Too white to be yellow.

So tell me why I should care for you.
