Butler athlete sets track record

The indoor track team started their season on Saturday, Jan. 13 at the Graduate Classic in Lincoln, Nebraska. After the Cavalier Night Relays in Overland Park on Friday, Jan. 19 and the Pittsburg State Invitational on Saturday, Jan. 27, the track team had the Herm Wilson Invitational at Wichita State on Friday, Feb. 2.
During the Herm Wilson Invitational, Butler’s Lew Butler athlete sets track record
is Cain set a school record in the heptathlon event with a score of 4,371 points, finishing in ninth place. The highest score prior to Lewis setting the new one was 4,236 points. The Grizzly men’s track team had three other men score in the top 10. Freshman Ronaldo Griffin (400-meter dash, 50.99 seconds) and Kaden Davis (long jump, 6.53 meters). Both took first in their events. Freshman Abiodun David also took sixth in the shot put event with a top throw of 12.57 meters.
