The Butler women took down Pratt 61-41 on Saturday, Feb. 17, in the Power Plant despite the impressive 3-point shooting from the Beavers.
Pratt nailed 12 of their 36 treys on the night, helping the Beavers stay close throughout most of the first half, until the Grizzlies started to pull away.
Pratt hit a 3-pointer to start off the games scoring right before Butler would go on a 13-0 run with the help of freshmen Awreona Ransom and Kyla Callins both scoring four points during the run. Butler would end the first quarter with a 21-12 lead.
Pratt would hit two 3-pointers early in the second, reducing their deficit to five, putting the score at 23-18 with 7:26 left in the half. It would be the last time Pratt would score in the remainder of the first half.
Butler extended their lead to 14 at 32-18 with a 9-0 run, but struggling to score at the end of the half, Butler went scoreless in the final three minutes of the first half.
The Beavers closed the gap at 10 in the third quarter, cutting the lead at 37-27 after a 3-pointer from Mackenzie Anderson with just over four minutes left in the third.
The Grizzlies outscored Pratt 12-3 to end the half. After a layup from sophomore Ericka Mattingly with 21 seconds left, Butler went up 49-30 at the end of the period.
In the final quarter, Butler extended their lead at 59-36, after consecutive buckets from sophomore Morgan Littlewood and Ransom, their largest lead of the contest.
Mattingly and Ransom both racked up 12 points on the night. Littlewood tagged along with her second double double on the season, with 11 points and 10 boards. Channa Parvin and Mackenzie Anderson led Pratt with 12 points apiece.
