On Friday, March 9, the Butch Reynolds Invitational started at 1 p.m. with the women’s 100 meter dash as the first track event. Butler had 14 athletes take first place finishes. Butler’s top finishes follow: freshman Charnice Anderson took first in the women’s 100 meter dash (11.71); sophomore Travis Collins took first in the men’s 200 meter dash (21.13); Ronaldo Griffith took first in the men’s 400 meter dash (53.68); sophomore Conangela Senior took first in the women’s 800 meter run (2:20.77); freshman Tavarius Wright took first in the men’s 100 meter dash (10.39); Derrick Reid took first in the men’s 1500 meter run (4:11.06); sophomore Rebekah Hamilton was first in the women’s 400 meter dash (58.86); sophomore Jade Searles took first in the women’s 1500 meter run (4:58.64); sophomore Eliud Koech finished first in the men’s 5000 meter run (15:55.55); sophomore Kyandre Lyons, freshman Calen Ragsdale, Collins and Wright took first in the men’s 4×100 meter relay (39.97); sophomore Jalicia Neil had a jump of (1.65m) taking first in the women’s high jump; freshman Cierra Baker finished first in the women’s 200 meter dash (25.48); Hamilton, Kayliah Carr, Baker and freshman Kai Lewis took first in the 4×400 meter relay (4:13.22); Finally, Clifton Casurra, sophomore Jakb Taylor, Reid and freshman Madison Edwards took first in the men’s 4×400 meter relay (3:21.22).
