Look at the time

Where has the last year and a half gone?

I say “Where has it gone,” but that’s really not a true statement, it’s felt like it’s lasted a lifetime. It’s like decades have passed every day for the last year.

It’s been a year since a very trying moment in my life happened, yet it feels like it’s a distant memory at this point.

They say time is supposed to speed up as you grow older, but it’s felt like the opposite for me. Things that occurred only a year ago feel like childhood memories.

Why? Why has time come to a screeching halt?

“This too shall pass” is what my brain tells me during the good times. Maybe my brain has slowed time’s speed as it knows this will be passing soon, and it’s trying to savor it as much as possible.

Or maybe I’m just overthinking things again like I usually do, but I’ll continue savoring these moments for the time being.
