Track finds success at KT Woodman Classic

Last weekend, Friday, April 13 through Saturday, April 14, the Butler Grizzlies track and field team traveled to the Wichita State, KT Woodman Classic. Sophomore Jayne Roberts took seventh in the women’s pole vault with a throw of 3.37 meters. Sophomore Dariaye Wooten took fifth in the men’s high jump with a jump of 1.93 meters. Sophomore Jalicia Neil took fourth in the women’s high jump with a jump of 1.62 meters. Freshman Abiodun David was 16th in men’s discus throw with a throw of 33.38 meters. Sophomore Ade Mason took first in men’s triple jump with a jump of 15.71 meters. Sophomore Jalicia Neil took seventh with a jump of 10.25 meters and freshman Ashton Snyder took eighth with a jump of 9.61 meters in the women’s triple jump. Ashton Snyder was 14th and sophomore Maggie Cannon took 15th in the women’s long jump. Snyder had a jump of 4.31 meters and Cannon turned in a jump of 3.81 meters. Sophomore Nick Nece took 13th in men’s javelin throw with a throw of 50.82 meters.

Six people placed in the men’s 800 meter run, sophomore Derrick Reid, freshman Madison Edwards, sophomore Clifton Casurra, freshman Terrence Mayes, freshman Leroy Wilson and sophomore Jake Taylor. Two women placed in the women’s 800 meter run, sophomore Jade Searles and sophomore Jeanne Baker. Sophomore Hillary Kiptoo placed 17th in the men’s 3000 meter steeplechase coming in with a time of 11:00.72.
