Amy Chastain
Adviser
The campus cat lady is reporting in.
My name is Amy Chastain, and I am the Butler Lantern newspaper adviser. This is the start of my eighth year at Butler and advising this student publication.
If you see a short, purple haired woman walking around campus who speaks to strangers, that would be me. If you see me on campus, please stop by and introduce yourself. I go by Amy, Ms. Amy, Cat Woman, and even Ms. Chastain, but I won’t answer to Mrs. Chastain since it is not legal to marry my cat son, Jett (insert sarcasm).
I spend much of my time on the El Dorado campus, but when I am not here, I can be found near my residence walking my cat son, Jett, on a leash and harness–seriously. My cat daughter, Cinder, doesn’t use a leash and harness since she is a diva, so she can be found inside her pink cat stroller. Clearly, my cat children are an important part of my life, so if you ask about them, you will certainly gain extra points with me.
Aside from my work as a newspaper adviser, I also work as an English professor here, so I hope to see you in my class in the spring. If you have any story ideas or criticism, please stop by my office in the 100 Building, Room 103B.
