Wednesday, Oct. 10, the Butler volleyball team took on Pratt in a thrilling five set match win against the Beavers (25-23, Pratt), (25,18, Butler), (25,19, Pratt), (25-20, Butler), (15-7, Butler).
“[This] was not our best performance, but we still finished with a win. Sophomore outside hitter Nia Bishop said, “We have improved on supporting each other and putting more effort into hustle plays.”
On Monday, Oct. 8, Butler hit the road to face Independence Community College. The Grizzlies won in a five set match against the Pirates (25-20, Butler), (27-25, Indy), (25-21, Butler), (25-17, Indy), and (15-12, Butler).
Saturday, Oct. 6, Butler Grizzlies hosted Dodge City Community College at home. The Women’s volleyball team swept the Conquistadors in three straight sets (25-14, Butler), (25-17, Butler), (25-21, Butler).
The Grizzlies came out strong and ready to compete and kept that momentum throughout the whole match. They finished the game with their season high hitting mark, hitting .463 on the match.
Some of the leaders of the night included Bishop who had 13 kills, Amalie Rupertova had three blocks, Beth Schulte with an amazing 11 digs, and Montana Soderburg recorded three service aces on the night.
The Grizzlies traveled to Neosho County Community College Wednesday Oct 3, to take on the Panthers. They fell short in three sets (25-23, Neosho), (25-16, Neosho), and (25-20, Neosho).
Sydney Scanlon had an outstanding 27 aces for the night, Rupertova added points to the board with her 11 kills, and Schulte had 15 digs.
The Grizzlies hosted Cloud County Community College on Friday, Oct. 12 at 6:30 P.M.
