Timothy Johnson
Lantern Staff

My name is Timothy Johnson, and I am a sophomore at Butler, majoring in English/Literature. This is my first year with the Butler Lantern. I live a few miles outside of El Dorado in a family of nine. I have three brothers and three sisters. My hobbies include piano, sleight of hand, entomology and basketball. My favorite thing to do is to watch horror movies with my friends, so I can watch them scream, easily the most entertaining aspect of watching a horror movie. Additionally, I enjoy reading, writing and correcting others on their grammatical errors. My love of writing was the reason that I joined the Butler Lantern this semester.

Carlie Pracht
Lantern Staff

My name is Carlie Pracht, and I am a freshman at Butler this year. I am currently majoring in Liberal Arts, but I plan to transfer to Kansas State University to major in dietetics. I joined the newspaper because I love to write and thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to write and to get more involved here at Butler, as well as make new friends and meet new people. I am very excited to see how this semester goes and to be involved with the newspaper. If you see me on campus, please feel free to say hi!

Magnus McFaulds
Lantern Staff

Hi, my name is Magnus. I live next to the lake in El Dorado and this is my first semester. I’m originally from England and moved here eight months ago. My major is mass communications, and I hope this takes me to a career in journalism and eventually an editor for a big name publication.

I love watching movies and TVs, especially on Netflix. I’ve spent more money at the cinema than I have spent on food. I also really enjoy writing; I have written some news stories for college in England. I am really looking forward to being a part of the Lantern and getting to know Butler and El Dorado.

Sasha Hull
Lantern Staff

I’m Sasha Hull and this is my first year at Butler and first semester as a part of the Lantern. Some of my favorite things to do in my spare time are listen to music, play video games, play soccer and spend time with my dogs! I was born and raised in Wichita and graduated from Wichita Northwest High school.

I work as a soccer coach for Happy Feet Soccer, and I work at Wichita area daycares, teaching kids ages two to five soccer skills and coach U6 teams during the fall and spring! It is amazing to be able to pass the love of the game onto young players.

I’ve never done reporting or newspaper so I am excited to begin this new journey in life with the Lantern, as I meet and talk to new people every day.

Amariani Garcia
Lantern Staff

Amariani Garcia, and it’s pronounced uh-mar-e-ah-knee. I am a freshman at Butler, and this is my first semester here at the Butler Lantern.

I live in Wichita, so the drive every morning is excessive and boring. I learned last semester that 8 a.m. classes are not in your favor.

I am fluent in Spanish and English. I was born and raised in Miguel Azul Zacatecas, Mexico. I came to America at a young age for a better education and future.

Hopefully, this semester goes by smoothly, and I continue with my 4.0 GPA.
