If students are looking for a scholarship for the 2019 – 2020 school year for either the fall or spring semesters, the BCCEA is offering a $500 scholarship for students who are pursuing a degree at the post – secondary or preK-12 levels. The BCCEA stands for the Butler Community College Education Association.
In order to qualify for this scholarship, students need to have a 3.0 or above GPA and have completed 12 credit hours. Students will also need to describe in a 500-word essay what their plans, and goals are for pursing a degree in education. After students have met these requirements, they will need to turn in their application and their essay to the Butler Foundation. The deadline to submit the scholarship application and essay is Thursday, August 1.
This scholarship is funded by employees at Butler including faculty, staff, councilors and voluntary contributions.
One of the organizers of this scholarship is excited for employees to be able to show their excitement for students wanting to pursue a degree in education.
“Employees are dedicated to the success of our students and those who choose to enter our profession,” Terry Sader, professor of philosophy and ethics, said in a news release. “The scholarship is just one more way to show that dedication and help where we can.”
