Game night, which was a part of Phi Theta Kappa’s Mental Health Awareness week, was held on Thursday, Oct. 3 at the Grizzly Den in Andover at 6 p.m. The evening started out with many game options, beginning with cornhole.

In addition to games, Associate Professor of Behavioral Sciences Nathan Swink made an appearance and introduced students to relaxation techniques and offered insight on meditation and tips on how to fall asleep quickly.

Following the game night, Phi Theta Kappa held an organization meeting. The meeting was informational for students who were recently invited to join their organization. It covered basic information about the opportunities gained by joining such as endless scholarships and a lifetime membership.

“It means [people] socialize…,” Guilherme Berbel, a Phi Theta Kappa officer, said of why the organization hosted this event. “It’s a way that people get to know other people… they make friends; they make connections.”

These connections can be vital when dealing with stress.
