On Thursday, Oct.10, Butler Community college was happy to host Amy Schmierbach, an artist and student at Fort Hays State University, and her mesmerizing display of artwork in the gallery of the 700 building, and will remain there until Friday, Nov. 1, which is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Schmierbach’s work featured many abstract concepts that included bright colors with geometrical features. She also displayed artwork, which featured what appeared to be woven thread in the shape of a ladder made of many scarves woven together. This is an interesting display, but one that can be a reminder- not all art is just pencil and paint.
