Zombieland: Double Tap recently hit theaters on Friday, Oct. 18, and its weekend box office made $26.75 million. The movie is a sequel to the popular zombie thriller, Zombieland, from 2009. With intense action and exceptional witty banter, this movie offers its audience an exciting and fun watch.

The movie stars Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin who reprise their roles from the first movie. The narration is done by Eisenberg’s character, Columbus, who explains at the beginning of the movie that since the first one, people have discovered that zombies have somewhat evolved. They are now classified into three groups, depending on the level of deadliness. The group takes refuge in what used to be the White House and spend some time living there until Wichita (Stone) and Little Rock (Breslin), leave unexpectedly. Columbus and Harrelson’s character, Tallahassee, stay at the White House getting over the women’s departure until Wichita returns alone saying that Little Rock has gone off on her own with a hippie. Fearing for Little Rock’s safety, the three set out to go find her and bring her back home, running into more zombies while they’re at it.

Zombieland: Double Tap is honestly good to watch even for people who haven’t seen the first. Simply put, it’s another zombie thriller that can provide entertainment for anyone who is into those type of movies. I thought the humor was witty and fun, though at some points it was a little repetitive, such as when one character whose purpose was to be the dumb naive girl acted stupidly throughout the whole movie to the point where it got a little annoying. My favorite part of the whole movie was the action. There were tons of creative action shots and scenes that were exciting and satisfying. I loved a scene that took place in an Elvis themed motel where Columbus and Tallahassee fought with two guys that just turned into zombies. The scene looked like it was taken in one shot as the camera followed around the place as the fight took place. It was gory at some points throughout the movie though, so those with uneasy stomachs may want to take caution. I thought the storyline was interesting and made for a good plot, but sometimes it would get a little boring when there was no action.

Overall, Zombieland: Double Tap was a fun-filled zombie thriller great to watch around the Halloween holiday. I give it a seven out of 10.
