The Grizzlies track and field teams were able to punch six more tickets to the National Indoor meet after competing at the Jayhawk Classic hosted by the University of Kansas in Anschutz Pavilion. Sophomore Xavier Atkins led the way with his second consecutive 60 meter dash with a time of 6.73 to take the gold. Atkins also earned KJCCC Indoor Track & Field ‘Athlete of the Week’ in the first week of the season.

The men’s 4x400m relay team consisted of sophomore Cardet Bienvenue, freshman Judah Taylor, sophomore Tard Smith Jr. and freshman Jerod Elcock set a new season best, running a 3:19.34, while also bringing home the gold.

Freshman Zadie St. Louis also qualified for nationals with her 2:24.30 time in the 800 meter run giving her a second-place finish.
