Future grizzly stars

The incoming class for Grizzly football looks great, with some impactful talent across the board. Butler signed three offensive and four defensive players that have committed and been publicized on Twitter and from the team. Last season, Butler went 7-3, but after having to forfeit wins, went to 1-9 with a first round win against Coffeyville in the playoffs.

Blake Reeder, of Shawnee Mission Northwest, is a 6-foot-4-inch 220 pound quarterback and tight end who had 2,563 passing yards, with 22 touchdowns and only three interceptions, He also rushed for 365 yards and eight touchdowns. Jack Meylan, also from Shawnee Mission Northwest, is 5-foot-11-inch, 170-pound wide receiver. He had 180 rushing yards on 13 attempts and five touchdowns, and on the receiving end, he had 866 yards, 35 receptions and nine touchdowns, and he averaged 78 yards per game. Reeder and Meylan led Shawnee Mission Northwest to a 7-4 record.

Triavez Hankerson is a wide receiver and cornerback. He is 6-foot-4-inches tall and weighs 187 pounds. Hankerson had nine receptions for 132 yards. On the defensive side, he had 51 tackles and two forced fumbles for Bradford High School in Starke, Florida where they went 6-6 on the season. Another signee Stephfon Hunter is a 6-foot-2-inch, 190 defensive back from Hutchinson High School. The Salthawks went 4-5 on the season.

Then there is Micheal Bush, a 6-foot-4-inch, 295-pound offensive and defensive tackle from Marion Harding High School in Ohio. He was third team all Ohio last season. D’Quez Madden, from Lanett High School in Alabama, is a 6-foot-1-inch 185-pound running back. He had 174 carries for 1201 yards, 20 TDs and 14 catches for 228 yards and 3 TDs. Kaden Claassen, 5-foot-8-inch kicker from Wichita Heights High School, made 35 field goals on 44 attempts, with his longest at 65 yards. Dialo Watson, 6-foot-3inch 195-pound wide receiver and defensive back from Wichita South High, had eight catches for 226 yards, five TDs and 75 tackles.

With these signings, the future for Butler football looks bright.
