The Coffeyville Red Ravens attempted to appeal the decision made by the KJCCC in regards to the playoff schedule change on Wednesday, Nov. 3, but the appeal was unsuccessful. The change took away Coffeyville’s ensuing game against Fort Scott and instead presented them with a first round match-up against the Grizzlies.

The schedule change came as a result of the ineligible player controversy hitting the Butler football program. The other two teams directly impacted include Garden City and Dodge City who will now face off this Sunday, Nov. 7.

It is hard to not admit that Garden City were the ones to benefit the most from this,  as they will be facing the now 3-5 (previously 2-6) Conquistadors, instead of the reigning champion Hutch Blue Dragons in the opening matchup of the playoffs.

Butler Sports Media has reached out to Coffeyville for a response to the failed appeal, but have yet to hear a response.
